ABOUT THE OWNER
Hi Everyone! My name is Karley and I am the owner and lead Aesthetician of Skin Society Wax & Spa. I am originally from Southern California and I received my Aesthetics and Master Aesthetics training at Bellus Academy in San Diego. After struggling with acne as a teenager and receiving facial treatments from an Aesthetician, I knew that skincare was my calling. I have been waxing and providing skincare treatments for over 9 years and I specialize in Brazilian waxing, Eyebrow Shaping and customized skincare treatments with an emphasis in post waxing care.
When I am not in the spa, I am spending time with wonderful husband, our two kids, and our two dogs!

WAXING
Here at Skin Society Wax & Spa we only use Hard Wax. We hand chose the best Hard Wax product on the market to be able to provide a customized waxing experience while effectively and comfortably removing the hair on all areas of the body. Our wax is melted and used at a lower temperature than traditional hard waxes making the application and removal of the wax more gentle on the skin.
Why Hard Wax?
Hard Wax is applied directly over the hair in the direction of the hair growth and only sits on top of the skin. The wax is left to dry and removed in the opposite direction to anchor the hair straight out of the follicle without causing harm or damage to the skin.
DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment that requires the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to gently remove or "shave" the skin's surface. The top-most layer contains dead skin and vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) that will be removed during the treatment.

PRE WAX FACTS
Stop Shaving! Your body hair must be at least 1/2 an inch for the wax to be able to remove the hair from the root effectively (Preferably about 2 weeks worth of growth)
Exfoliate at least 24 hours before with a loofa or a body scrub. Removing the dead skin will allow the wax to adhere to just the hair, allowing for more effective removal of the hair
Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Just like dry hair on our head breaks, same goes for your body hair. Broken hair = Ingrown Hairs, so drink plenty of water before your appointment

All bookings will require a valid credit card on file. If you choose to not leave a card on file, a deposit of 50% of the service total will need to be completed in order to hold the appointment.
Skin Society Wax & Spa is run solely by Karley. Due to the lack of a receptionist, all unanswered calls will be followed up with an automated text prompting you to either text in your inquires or to go online to book your appointment. Thank you for your understanding XOXO
At Skin Society Wax & Spa, we understand that sometimes life gets in the way. In order to keep and maintain our optimal flow of appointments, and respect the time of all clients and Estheticians, the policies listed below have been put into effect.
LATE: If you are running behind, please notify us through text that you are running late to your scheduled appointment. If you are running more than 7 minutes late, Skin Society Wax & Spa will unfortunately be unable to accommodate some, if not all services scheduled due to the surrounding appointments on the schedule. You will be asked to reschedule your appointment, and at that time cancellation fees will apply
CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULE: We kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule your appointment no less than 24 hours in advance. This includes additional services you were scheduled for, and no longer plan on receiving. Cancellation less than 24 hours in advance to the start of your appointment time will result in a late cancellation fee of 50% of the service total before rescheduling.
NO SHOW: Failure to be at your scheduled appointment without prior communication to Skin Society Wax & Spa will result in a fee of 100% of the service total. Fees must be collected to reschedule and appointments will not be accepted until all monies owed to Skin Society Wax & Spa are paid in full.
CONFIRMATION: All appointments must be confirmed either through the text/email from Vagaro or by text to Skin Society Wax & Spa within 24 hours of the start of your appointment time.. Failure to confirm your appointment will result in cancellation of the appointment and you will need to reschedule

Reasons for Cancelling/Rescheduling and How Avoid a Late Fee
Sick: We understand that in today's world, especially as we continue to navigate through a world with Covid-19, we ask that you still cancel your appointments within 24 hours of the start time of your appointment. Be proactive. If you feel even slightly off or unwell, it is safer to cancel and reschdule when you are 100% confident you are not sick. Also, for the well being of myself, my family, and my other clients, please do not come in sick or if you have tested positive for COVID-19. If you have tested positve for COVID-19, please wait 10 days, or until you have a negative test to reschedule your appoinment
Period: Getting waxed on your period is completely safe, and does not bother us when you come in while on your period. We wax many woman everyday on their cycle and it does not affect the effectiveness of your wax. Getting your period is not a reason to cancel less than 24 hours in advance, as you are physcially able to get waxed, as long as you have a clean tampon in or a menstrual cup. If you do not feel comfortable coming in on your period, please plan your waxing around your cycle, or cancel within 24 hours of the start of your appointment to avoid a late cancel fee.
